THE CURSE OF BEGRUDGERY

EXPECTED SUMMER 20
Part of the Prophesy of Tamar series

On the Yorkshire coast of Northern England, sits a wild rugged coastline. A place which boasts both beauty and isolation, each blended perfectly like a roguish cocktail. Windswept beaches and gothic ruins, once conspired to be the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s creation ...“Dracula”.  A mere 125 years later, and once again the icy winds of the North Sea, blow in more than just fog in from its briny depths. Jealousy, distrust and deep resentment descend once more, like a demonic mist upon these unforgiving shores.

A vitsa of travellers commonly moved around between the Yorkshire Dales and North York moors. One particular night they parked their caravans on a well-known beauty spot close to the seaside town of Scarborough. Just a couple of weeks earlier, one of the families within this small gypsy community had come into good fortune. Yet it was Roma luck beset with tragedy. As misfortune after misfortune rained down upon this one family, those who believed in the evil eye became convinced that they must be the victims of the curse of begrudgery - a powerful and destructive Gypsy spell. As the evil eye of resentment took hold, their lives were tragically altered beyond belief.

However, their fate was more than just a thoughtless jinx uttered from Romany lips. This was a fate cast thousands of years earlier, originating as far away from Yorkshire as one could imagine.

Clarah is the young Gypsy woman who is at the centre of this curious story. What she is about to discover about herself and all those around her, challenges our very concept of reality. By an accident of destiny, she now controls all human destiny, yet she sleeps unaware of the clarion call. Clarah is a Romany traveller, who becomes the ultimate traveller of the cosmos.

Bram Stoker’s eerie vision of the Whitby coastline has been reborn within a different skin. There are no vampires in this story. The rudimentary slurping of human blood isn’t a requirement for those who are neither flesh or mortal… and there are many of those who walk in our shadows. The story line overlaps & co-exists with THE UNBEKNOWN and THE LINES OF TAMAR, as  part of the prophesy series.

Neither dead, or alive, or anything inbetween.
Just because we cannot see something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Clarah exists..
